Triana joins the International Film Festival with the competition “Triana en Corto”

 The Business Association Zona Triana announces the “First Short Film Competition 2016” that will take place during March 11, 12 and 13, at the Las Palmas de Gran Canaria’s Triana neighborhood

 Participants must complete and submit the entry formulary to before 2pm, March 9

Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Friday, February 19, 2016. The Business Association Zona Triana wanted to join the 16th Las Palmas de Gran Canaria International Film Festival with the “Triana en Corto First Short Film Competition”, a contest taking place strictly in the neighborhood in March 11, 12 and 13.

The works, running a maximun of 3 minutes, will be about a single topic that will be announced in March 10 by the organization. In addition to this, they will have to be shot inside the Triana area comprised among the Bravo Murillo street, the Rafael Cabrera avenue, the Primero de Mayo avenue and the Lentini street, between noon, Friday 11, and noon, Sunday 13. The works can be submitted in 16.9 or 4.3 in MPEG-4 (mp4) format.

Anybody that wishes to participate will be able to do it with as many works as possible, provided he/she submits an entry formulary per presented work to, before 2pm, March 9. 

A jury made up of an unbalanced number of people related to the Culture sphere will assess the pieces and will grant three awards carrying a cash prize of 750 euros for the first, 350 for the second and 250 for the third.
The awards ceremony will take place the same Sunday, March 13, at the Gabinete Literario, where all the participant works will be screened.

With this initiative, the Business Association Zona Triana will attempt to encourage and support cultural events so that Zona Triana could be not only a shopping place but also a cultural and leisure one.
