Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Tuesday, February 16, 2016. The Las Palmas de Gran Canaria International Film Festival opens from tomorrow Wednesday to next Monday, February 29, the registration to be part of its 16th edition’s popular jury, an edition that will take place between March 4 and 13, 2016.
The popular jury, made up of a maximum of 30 people, is the one in charge of granting the Audience Award to one of the feature films competing in the official section, an award that sounds out the audience opinion and that, like in the last editions, will include a prize of 1500 euros for the director.
To be part of the said jury it is required to be over 18 and to register, from tomorrow Tuesday, February 16, onwards, at the festival’s seat (Rodríguez Quegles Palacete, 4 Pérez Galdós Street, Las Palmas de Gran Canaria), from Monday to Friday, between 10am and 2pm.
Those who finally end up being selected will have to commit to attend every screening of the Official Section’s feature films, for what they will be coordinated at all times by a member of the Festival’s organization. Besides, they will have to take part in an informative meeting prior to the beginning of the Festival and, unavoidably, in the deliberation meeting, in which each and every one of them will state their Audience Award choice.
The selected members will be notified by the organization and, in case any of them could not assume the attendance commitment, the first one in the waiting list will be notified.
